Description
D3Plus by Bio-Tech Pharmacal may work to maintain strong bones by providing vitamin D and other important nutrients. First‚ every serving contains 5‚000 IU (international units) of vitamin D3‚ which is also known as cholecalciferol; as the active form of vitamin D‚ cholecalciferol might be easier to absorb than other forms of the vitamin. For this reason‚ D3Plus has been endorsed by the Vitamin D Council.
In addition‚ this supplement also contains several minerals that can serve as vitamin D cofactors; for example‚ zinc and boron may promote bone health by working with vitamin D to encourage calcium absorption.
Last‚ D3Plus provides a total of 800 micrograms of vitamin K per serving. Vitamin K—which is actually comprised of two vitamins (K1 and K2)—may work to maintain bone mass. Specifically‚ vitamin K2 may work with vitamin D to support the functioning of osteoblasts (cells that build bone) while potentially discouraging the production of osteoclasts (cells that break down bone).
